Cutting Edge Snow Alert 2/10/2019 Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 6pm Sunday. Forecast Summary Winter Weather Advisory ...LOCALLY HEAVY SNOW BANDS THROUGH EARLY AFTERNOON... .A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for locations east and south of a line from New Ulm, to Minneapolis, to Chippewa Falls Wisconsin. The advisory remains in effect through 6 PM this evening. Snow will continue to spread across southern Minnesota, and into west central Wisconsin through noon. There will be bands of heavier snowfall, with snowfall rates as high as 1 inch per hour likely. Otherwise, light snow will continue through the afternoon, and begin to taper off from western Minnesota, into eastern Minnesota by sunset. It may linger longer in west central Wisconsin through the early evening. By this evening, areas in the advisory will have received 2 to 4 inches of snow, with locally highers amounts where these bands of heavier snow falls. The main hazard will be snow covered roads with slippery conditions developing. ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Snow expected. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Operations Plan Plow operators, shovel crews and salt truck drivers have been placed on alert. Section and Area Managers will monitor weather conditions and sites throughout the duration of the event. Services will begin on sidewalks and parking lots once triggers are reached or conditions warrant service on Sunday. We anticipate servicing sites throughout the day Sunday with a full shovel, plow and salting Sunday night into Monday morning.
